Why Tentio exists
The feeling belongs
to the writer.
Most generated poetry asks a machine to invent two things: the language and the life behind it. We think that’s where it goes wrong.
A poem can have the right rhythm, a beautiful image, even a clever ending, and still mean almost nothing. If you could send it to ten different people without changing a word, whose story is it telling?
Tentio began with that question. Its founder is a multi-time published poet and a software engineer: someone who understands both the work of writing and the possibilities of building tools to support it.
A different starting point.
Tentio can suggest a line. You decide whether it deserves to stay.
The difference matters. One is a suggestion. The other is yours.
Begin with the cold cup.
Begin with the thumbprint.
A suggestion is not a verdict.
Assistance without surrender.
You decide where the poem is going. You choose the lines that sound right. You reject what feels too polished, too obvious, or simply unlike you. A suggestion is something to work with, never something you owe the page.
Our Truth Lock principle draws a clear boundary: metaphor can be invented; personal history cannot. Respect for a memory means not quietly replacing it with a more convenient story.
Writing with intention
Attention gives a poem its direction.
The name Tentio comes from intentio: attention, direction, purpose. It describes the kind of space we want to build. Every question should earn its place. Every detail should be treated with care. And the finished poem should still feel like something you meant.
